Seated Tai Chi Devon
Tai chi is a routine of flowing exercises that has been used for centuries in China for its health benefits. The exercises are very gentle, being suitable for all ages and physical conditions.
Tai chi combines physical movement, breathing and mindfulness and brings both calm and energy to our bodies. Tai chi is mostly done standing, but seated tai chi allows movement for those with restricted mobility. In seated tai chi, the tai chi movements are adapted for people with reduced mobility, such as the elderly or the disabled.
Regular practice of seated tai chi can have many of the benefits of standing tai chi, namely:
- Improved blood circulation;
- Healthier joints and limbs;
- Calm and relaxed body and mind;
- Boosted immune system, preventing diseases;
- Improved respiratory and digestive systems;
- More energy and stamina.
Master Nick Taylor has designed a seated tai chi curriculum based on the movements of tai chi, health qigong sets and breathing exercises. Alda Gomez has added her expertise to this curriculum with her extensive experience as a trainer and her passion for health qigong. They both teach seated tai chi in different care homes in Devon. If you wish to start a class in your residential home, please contact us. We are very busy, but we will try to accomodate your needs or send a qualified instructor on our behalf.
