Alda Gómez started her regular practice of tai chi and qigong 10 years ago in Ireland. She was living a huge crisis in her life and tai chi and qigong kept her grounded. In 2010, she created the House of Movement in Dublin to share her knowledge with others. She moved to Devon in the summer of 2014. She loves teaching and shares her passion for both tai chi and qigong with a healthy sense of humour (of course, it had to be healthy).
Alda trains regularly with Grandmaster Liming Yue, having trained with other skillful masters both in the UK and in Ireland. Her passion for qigong has led her to promote classes everywhere in Dublin with fantastic results, including organizing international workshops with masters from the Chinese Health Qigong Association. Following on that work, she has started different qigong classes in Devon, meeting a great enthusiasm from her students in Totnes, Dawlish and Chudleigh.
Alda’s interest for people led her to complete a Masters’ Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alda created Alda Counselling in 2014. She works with people with different life issues, such as relationship questioning, depression, anger management, sexual abuse, and trauma to mention but a few in Exeter and Teignmouth. She is especially interested in how stress impacts on a person’s mental and physical well-being, having researched and trained extensively in how the nervous system works, its impact on the body, and how the stress response is impacted by trauma.
Alda holds the following accreditations: Chen Style Level Three Instructor Accredited by Grandmaster Liming Yue (UK), Duan 2 in Health Qi Gong by Chinese Health Qi Gong Association, Mawangdui Instructor with the British Health Qi Gong Association.
She also has a Masters’ degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy with CPD in the areas of trauma, HIV, sandtray therapy, and multicultural counselling.
