In House of Movement, our aim is to care for your health and well-being. We do that by teaching the ancient practices of tai chi and qigong. Tai chi and qi gong exercises are easy-to-follow, gentle and appropriate for anyone of any age and physical condition.
The students in our tai chi and qigong classes in Devon are usually between the ages of 40-80, but anyone can benefit from tai chi and qigong. Extensive research has found tai chi and qigong beneficial for many conditions and for slowing down the aging process. Western doctors are increasingly recommending tai chi. Chinese medicine doctors and acupuncturists have recommended qigong for centuries. The regular practice of tai chi and qigong may have some of these benefits:
- Improved blood circulation;
- Healthier joints and muscles;
- Calm body-mind, including regulating your nervous system (useful for PTSD, chronic stress or similar conditions);
- Improved respiratory and digestive systems;
- More stamina and energy;
- Feeling grounded, connected.
As well as getting all the benefits of tai chi, our students have a great time in class, meeting like-minded people and usually having a laugh.
